This module dives into the science of peak performance, often described as being in ‘the zone’, as well as examining disruptors of peak performance such as perfectionism or performance anxiety. Performance anxiety is experienced by most musicians and is rarely a flaw; more often it signals that something deeply matters. This module offers a practical and compassionate approach to transforming anxiety into presence and integration.
Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we explore how body, mind, and values can come into alignment. You will learn ways to meet distress with openness rather than fear, train attention for presence, and cultivate the spaciousness that allows music to unfold naturally.
Here, confidence becomes less about certainty and more about clarity, trust, and grounded attention.
