Mark Padmore
Mark Padmore, CBE, is one of his generation’s most distinguished tenors, celebrated for his mastery of opera, concert, and recital. Educated at King’s College, Cambridge, he is world-renowned for his definitive portrayals of the Evangelist in Bach’s Passions, particularly his staged collaborations with the Berlin Philharmonic. His operatic highlights include a "tour de force" performance in Britten’s Death in Venice at the Royal Opera House. A prolific recording artist and former Artist in Residence at Wigmore Hall, Padmore’s partnerships with legends like Mitsuko Uchida have redefined modern interpretations of Schubert. He was named Musical America’s 2016 Vocalist of the Year.
